Relaxation Treatments: A lighter pressure is applied to muscles in the direction of blood flow to the heart, but not as much pressure as in a deep tissue massage. It works by increasing circulation, gently stretches tendons and ligaments, and engages our nervous, lymphatic, & digestive systems. This results in whole-body and mind relaxation, stress reduction, improved circulation, improved sleep and a boost to the immune system.

Therapeutic/Deep Tissue Treatments: Pressure is decided pre-treatment with your therapist. These treatments can create a temporary pain response with the release of lactic acid however, this pain should be manageable throughout treatment. The therapist’s movements are against the grain of the muscle to loosen muscles and soft tissue. This deeper pressure relaxes muscles, lowers blood pressure, helps break up scar tissue & trigger points, and helps relieve side effects of chronic stress.

Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue therapy that involves the application of decompressed cups on the skin, creating a vacuum effect that lifts up underlying tissues such as the fascia (connective tissue) & muscles. This action promotes fresh blood flow to those congested areas of the body which helps to flush out toxins, alleviate pain, improve range of motion, & decrease stiffness.

We have amazing results with cupping and encourage all of our clients to inquire with their therapist about adding this to their next treatment!

Reflexology is a form of massage with roots that go back to ancient Chinese medicine. The technique used relies upon a map of the feet, which identifies pressure points that correspond to certain organs and muscles in the body. This can be used to stimulate the endocrine and nervous system to begin the healing process

Image result for benefits of pre natal massagere & post-natal massage can help reduce stress, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pain, and improve labor outcomes. Pre & post natal massages can also help regulate hormone levels, help blood circulation, and reduce swelling.

If you are unsure if pre or post natal treatments are the right fit for you, please consult with your doctor. Muscle Mechanics is here to answer any additional questions you may have.

Lymphatic drainage massage relieves swelling that happens when medical treatment or illness blocks your lymphatic system. This specialized approach focuses on the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. Lymphatic massage aims to help the body maintain proper blood circulation, body fluid balance, immune functions and decreases swelling.

Keeping our bodies hydrated pre & post treatment will keep our tissue and muscles soft, allow for more pliability, promote better results, and help our immune system to flush out any toxins in the body post treatment.

EPSOM salt minerals in a detox bath help to remove toxins from the body, such as lactic acid from our muscles, relieve stress, reduce muscle soreness, reduce joint pain, and soothe irritated skin.

Ice/cold baths can be uncomfortable but hold a lot of benefit. Ice baths promotes neural and cardiovascular system recovery, promote a shorter recovery time post exercise, faster resolution of soft tissue injuries, reduces fatigue lowering the risk of injury, and treats muscle joint soreness, strain and inflammation.
